This is a new twist on ransomware. There are now reports of the bad actors deliberately paying staff to infect their own companies with malware. We used to have a ‘moat mentality’ that all the bad people are out there somewhere … Clearly, that is no longer a reasonable assumption. We need integrity in both people and systems to prevent this sort of internally distributed malware.
